Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station divulged the two camera lenses Huawei is working on.
Huawei has been working hard to achieve full independence following the sanctions implemented by the US government. We saw it in its Kirin chips and OS, and a new leak says that the brand is also now planning to do the same on its camera system.
Earlier this year, we heard that the Chinese giant started working on a self-developed Pura 80 Ultra camera system. A tipster suggested that, in addition to the software, Huawei could replace the OmniVision components currently being used in the Pura 70 series with its self-made lenses. Now, DCS shared more details about these lenses.
According to the tipster, the Huawei lenses are named SC5A0CS and SC590XS, both of which use the RYYB tech and 50MP resolution. The SC5A0CS is a 1″ sensor expected to be used in the main camera, while the SC590XS is a 1/1.3″ lens that could serve as a telephoto. As per DCS, the latter is armed with Huawei’s SuperPixGain HDR2.0 technology, which “achieves ultra-high dynamic range imaging,” “suppresses motion artifacts,” and produces an imaging effect that is “bright and dark, clear and without smear.”
The lenses are expected to be used in the brand’s future flagship models and series, including the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. The Pura 80 Ultra is allegedly coming with a trio of lenses on its back, featuring a 50MP 1″ main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 1/1.3″ periscope unit. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera. According to DCS, in an earlier post, the test for the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra camera system has already started.
