Leaker: 3 compact smartphones coming in H1 2025, including one from Oppo

Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station claimed that three mini phones will debut in the first half of the year. The tipster also shared that Oppo has a compact model that is ready for release.

There is a growing craze among manufacturers in China involving compact smartphones. After the debut of the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, several reports revealed that different Chinese brands are now working on their own compact models. 

According to DCS, three of these models will be introduced in the first half of the year. Specifically, the phones are expected to arrive in early- or mid-April.

The tipster shared that all the devices have flat displays measuring 6.3 inches and ultra-narrow bezels, metal frames, and “relatively large” batteries despite their sizes. Moreover, the account revealed the chips the three handhelds have, noting that the first one that will be released has a Dimensity 9400(+) SoC, while the second and third ones house the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9300+ chips, respectively. 

One of the brands expected to offer the said mini phones is Oppo. According to DCS, the phone is now ready for release. Aside from a 6.3” display, the phone reportedly offers a Hasselblad periscope lens, a waterproof rating, and wireless charging support. The phone is believed to be called Find X8 Mini, which has a 7mm thin body. Other details expected from the phone include its MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip, 6.3″ LTPO display with a 1.5K or 2640x1216px resolution, triple camera system (a 50MP 1/1.56″ (f/1.8) main camera with OIS, a 50MP (f/2.0) ultrawide, and a 50MP (f/2.8, 0.6X to 7X focal range) periscope telephoto with 3.5X zoom), push-type three-stage button, optical fingerprint scanner, and 50W wireless charging.

According to earlier reports, Honor and OnePlus also have their compact models. The latter is believed to offer the OnePlus 13T, which is expected to feature two cameras on the back and a huge 6000mAh battery inside.
