Tipster names 4 foldables launching this year; Release timelines allegedly changed

Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station shared the four book-style foldable smartphones coming this year. The tipster also claimed that the release timelines of such devices from five major brands will change.

Days ago, DCS revealed that the development of the second trifold phone in the industry had been halted. The said brand is unknown, but the foldable market in China is reportedly “saturated,” and the market is not huge enough to produce sufficient demand for such a device.

Despite that, the tipster claimed that the said industry player would continue producing the next generations of its foldables. Now, the same leaker has named four brands allegedly producing their own book-style handhelds this year.

As per DCS, these devices debuting this year include the Oppo Find N5 (rebadged OnePlus Open 2), Honor Magic V4, Vivo X Fold 4, and Huawei Mate X7.

The Find N5 is expected to arrive in March and has been the center of recent leaks. According to DCS, it could offer the thinnest body on the market and use titanium material. Earlier leaks said it also has a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, an IPX8 rating, a triple camera system, and up to 16GB/1TB max configuration.

The Vivo X Fold 4’s original debut timeline, however, was reportedly postponed. This could mean it will arrive later than its predecessor. As per DCS, the foldable features a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 6000mAh battery, an IPX8 rating, and a triple camera system (50MP main + 50MP ultrawide + 50MP 3X periscope telephoto with macro function).

Details about the Magic V4 and Mate X7 are scarce, but the latter’s predecessor continues to strive in the market. Recently, the luxury brand Caviar made several customized versions of the phone. It includes the Huawei Mate X6 Forged Dragon, which costs $12,200 for a 512GB storage.
