57% of current Google Pixel users likely to switch to other brands in the future — Report

Google could soon lose more than half of its current Pixel users. According to data gathered from various Pixel owners, 57% of the participants are considering having other brands for their smartphones in the future.

Google Pixel is undeniably one of the most interesting smartphone brands in the market now. The devices are packed with boatloads of unique features, from AI to camera-related capabilities. In addition to that, the search giant is constantly underscoring the relevance of repairability across its devices. This resulted in 7-year software support for the latest generation of its phone creations, making it far superior in this department to other brands.

Despite all of those efforts, however, it seems the company is facing a dilemma in convincing its Pixel customers to stay with it in the future. According to recent Statista Consumer Insights data, more than half of the current Pixel users who participated in their survey expressed interest in switching smartphone brands. This is more than double the 25% of the Pixel users in the study who expressed willingness to continuously use Pixels in the future.

Even worse, the numbers Pixels received have huge gaps compared to the loyalty of Samsung and Apple users in the survey. Unlike Google, only 37% of Samsung and Apple user participants said they were likely to change brands in the future. Also, the percentage of participants who said they were unlikely to switch brands was relatively high.

If these results are to be believed, Google might be in a problematic state in handling the loyalty of its customers. This also poses risks to its future Pixel devices, especially the Pixel 9, which is now reportedly in the works.
