Most of the Xiaomi phones that are sold in high numbers must have some chronic failures, the reason being is:
- The phone being released too early
- The phone has been mass-produced without any proper testing
- The phone must be broken on shipping
- A small detail might have been missed out during the testing phase
- And many more…

Most of the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 users have reported that they had the Tianma panel variant of their phones, and after high amounts of usage, their phones’ screens had the ghost screen issue. Xiaomi still hasn’t fixed that issue yet, and still is using Tianma panels on their low-budget devices. Those are also one of the Xiaomi phones with chronic failures, which is bad.

Xiaomi used the worst screen panel possible back in the day, they have reduced the amounts of phones they have used IPS Tianma panels with and have converted to using AMOLED on mid-range and flagship devices.
Most of the Xiaomi/Redmi (or POCO) devices have AMOLED screens now, which still has a probability of having an AMOLED burn-in and green tint issues, which are also chronic. AMOLED phones are also one of the Xiaomi phones with chronic failures if used with white mode and full brightness all day.
Xiaomi/Redmi phones with side-mounted fingerprint sensors
Some of the Xiaomi/Redmi devices with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor have an issue in the flex cable itself that causes the issue of your fingerprint sensor not working. The phones that have this issue are:
- Redmi Note 9T
- Redmi Note 9 Pro
- Redmi Note 9S
Those three phones especially had those issues, that were later fixed in the Redmi Note 10 series. Redmi is known in the community for their huge mistakes, and not testing the fingerprint sensors inside the Redmi Note 9 series phones was one of them, most of their users had to get themselves new fingerprint flex cables from overseas so they can fix them themselves. POCO M3 and the DEAD BOOT issue.
The majority of the POCO M3 users have mentioned that after their phone has been closed, it never opened up again, causing a dead boot. This is not the worst thing that has been coming from POCO, and it’s not the first. Even if POCO is a sub-brand of Redmi, Redmi has made the worst phone ever labeled as a “POCO”. The POCO M3 was a disaster with its chronic dead boot issue. And it should never be bought again. Xiaomi Mi 9T/Pro and the motorized pop-up camera.
The Mi 9T/Pro were great two devices. But they were the worst Xiaomi phones with chronic failures. Their motorized pop-up cameras make the screen close to having a %100 screen-to-body ratio. But, there is one bad problem with those devices. Mi 9T/Pro had an issue if the pop-up camera had an issue if the pop-up camera caught dust inside, it will never open up again, even if the prompt is given. The fix to this is actually to open the phone’s case and clean off the dust. Xiaomi didn’t do tests on this device’s motorized pop-up camera that much, that’s why Mi 9T/Pro failed.

Xiaomi Mi 9 was also one of the best phones to be released along with the Xiaomi Mi 9T series, Mi 9 was all about being a flagship with no problems whatsoever, at least, the vision for the phone was like that. After its release, people talked about some bugs that rattled the user experience a lot. It has been discovered that’s due to the devices having a broken PMIC. A broken PMIC can make so many flaws in the device. And there is another issue on hand.
All of the Xiaomi Mi 9 users have reported that if they use the camera for more than 10 minutes, the phone would start to heat up and drain a whole lot of battery, most of the users can’t have video chats on their devices, mainly because of this issue alone. Xiaomi Phones with Chronic Failures: Conclusion
Xiaomi has made a long way, with or without its chronic failures. They are still making great devices, just like Xiaomi 12S series. With the Leica support in camera hardware, Xiaomi is making their quality go up, higher than ever. And with Xiaomi, Redmi is also trying to improvise its quality in making price/performance devices. Redmi K50 series was only the beginning. For POCO devices, though. It doesn’t seem that POCO is still making good devices. POCO M3 was their worst shot ever, and the POCO X4 series didn’t make as much as the noise POCO X3 series did. POCO’s future doesn’t seem that bright, but Xiaomi itself has a nice future alright.
Will we see more Xiaomi phones with chronic failures as deadly as these devices? Time will only show. But one thing is for sure, Xiaomi is not willing to make another phone like POCO M3. The times on Xiaomi phones with chronic failures are as near as over.
