All Redmi K90 models to get telephoto, 7000mAh+ battery, IP68 rating, more

A tipster from China says that all models in the Redmi K90 series will share several premium specifications, including a huge 7000mAh battery, a telephoto unit, and an IP68 rating.

The Redmi K80 series is now available in China. The vanilla and Pro models arrived in November last year, while the Ultra variant was unveiled in June. Now that the last quarter of the year is approaching, Xiaomi is reportedly already preparing the K80 series successor.

A recent tip shared by reputable leaker Digital Chat Station revealed several key specs of the K90 series. Interestingly, it seems the Chinese giant is planning to make some huge upgrades not just to the Redmi K90 Pro and Redmi K90 Ultra, but also to the vanilla Redmi K90.

According to DCS, all models of the lineup will have batteries with a capacity starting at 7000mAh. The leak also says that the series charging support will be limited to 100W. While this is good news for the Ultra and vanilla variants (since the K80 and K80 Ultra have 90W and 100W support, respectively), this means the Pro model will have a downgrade. To compare, the current K80 Pro model has 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Moreover, the tipster claimed that all the devices will still support an IP68 rating and ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, just like their predecessors. Yet, the surprise comes in the camera section, with the leaker claiming that all variants will have a telephoto unit. To recall, only the Pro model has the said lens unit in the K80 series.

As per DCS, the entire series is also expected to include “new” displays, dual speakers, and metal frames.

While the Redmi K90 series will stay exclusive to China, Xiaomi could rebadge the models under the Poco branding. To recall, the Redmi K80 models were rebadged as the Poco F7 series.
