Alleged Huawei Pura 80 Ultra spotted amid test

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is reportedly now being tested in China, where several alleged photos of the model have surfaced.

Days ago, Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman Richard Yu announced that the Pura 80 series would launch in June. Despite sharing the launch timeline, the brand remains silent about the specifics of the lineup. However, several leaks from China have already revealed several key specs of the series, including its camera island design, which seems similar to that of its predecessor.

Amid the wait, several photos of the alleged Huawei Pura 80 Ultra leaked in China. While some of the images confirm the triangular camera module design, others seemingly show the unit being tested in public. Interestingly, without the camera island component, the camera section on the rear of the phone appears to consume a large space.

According to some, this is because of the multiple lenses in the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, which could have a periscope telephoto and a Red Maple lens unit. To recall, the Pura 70 Ultra has a camera system made of a 50MP wide (1.0″) with PDAF, Laser AF, sensor-shift OIS, and a retractable lens; a 50MP telephoto with PDAF, OIS, and 3.5x optical zoom (35x super macro mode); and a 40MP ultrawide with AF.

Moreover, Huawei is expected to debut its in-house lenses in the Pura 80 Ultra, the SC5A0CS and SC590XS, both of which use the RYYB tech and 50MP resolution. In general, the Pura 80 Ultra is expected to have a powerful camera system. The device is allegedly armed with a 50MP 1″ main camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a large periscope with a 1/1.3″ sensor. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera.
