BeaconLink now available in OnePlus 12R via update

The OnePlus 12R has received support for the BeaconLink app through a recent update rolled out by Oppo.

The OxygenOS update comes with the build CPH2585_15.0.0.500 (EX01) and has a size of 1.03GB. It features some system stability improvements alongside the January 2025 Android security patch, but its main highlight is the BeacoLink app support.

BeaconLink is an app that allows users to perform short-distance calling without using internet or mobile data. It works through the use of walkie-talkies, making the devices work like walkie-talkies within the range of 200m.

To recall, the feature was first introduced in Oppo Reno 12 series. It is also available in the vanilla Oppo F27 5G and Oppo Reno 12F 4G.

The feature can be activated by enabling Bluetooth, Quick Connect, and Interconnect Security Services and giving permissions to Phone, Notifications, Contacts, and Bluetooth. To access BeaconLink, users can go to the Mobile Network page in their Settings app and choose BeaconLink.
