Before this week comes to an end, here are more news and leaks about the latest and upcoming smartphones in the market:
- HMD has further stepped up to promote its name globally. The brand entered a partnership with FC Barcelona as its official smartphone partner. This will allow HMD to advertise its smartphones for three years at the Olympic Stadium and, soon, at Camp Nou.
- A recently discovered code shows that Xiaomi is already preparing HyperOS 2.0 for a release. If speculations are true, it could mean that the update should launch soon, with the company likely making the final adjustments and fixes now.
- The iQOO 13 is rumored to have a trio of 50MP cameras in the back: a 50MP main unit, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto. According to a leaker, the phone’s camera design will be similar to its predecessor.
- Xiaomi users can now try the Android 15 Beta 3 update. The update is currently available to users in China, but it should soon be offered to Xiaomi device owners from other regions.
- Xiaomi is already preparing the Xiaomi 15S Pro. The model was spotted on the IMEI listing, confirming its existence. However, based on the phone’s 25042PN24C model number, it will be offered only in the Chinese market. The device is rumored to get a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 chip and will launch in April 2025.
- The vanilla Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will debut in October with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is reportedly coming in 2025 alongside the Xiaomi 15S Pro model.
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra reportedly has three material options for its back panel. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, customers can choose from fake leather, glass, or ceramic.
- iQOO 13 will revive the rear light strip design first seen in the original iQOO phone, which was released in 2019. However, the centered vertical light strip could be given a new look, and we expect it to look better aesthetically.
- The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is now official, and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G model is the first phone to use it.
- The iQOO Neo 10 and Neo 10 Pro models will get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipsets, respectively. Aside from that, the two will feature a 1.5K flat display, a metal middle frame, 100W fast charging support, and (possibly) a 6000mAh battery.
- Honor has recently shared the secrets behind its thin Magic V3 foldable. According to the company, the thin profile of the smartphone became possible through the use of a 3rd-gen silicon-carbon battery (allowing it to have the same battery capacity as other phones without consuming too much battery space), Titanium Vapor Chamber (which has a titanium VC substrate, allowing 22% increase in heat dissipation area, weig40%ht reduction, and 53% better performance), and a new Super Steel Hinge (which is thinner at 2.84mm and offers 2,100MPa tensile strength).
- The Poco C75 4G appeared on Thailand’s NBTC, signaling its approaching global debut. The phone was spotted with the 2410FPCC5G model number following its earlier appearances on other platforms, where some of its details were revealed, including its 4G and NFC connectivities.
- The Pixel 9 Pro XL was tested in Genshin Impact, and its performance was quite disappointing. Despite having the new Tensor G4 chip, the phone tends to hold back on its performance to address the increased temperature when being used in heavy work, such as in games with heavy configurations. For instance, the phone was tested on the YouTube channel of Dame Tech. The Pixel 9 Pro XL was used for Genshin Impact under the highest settings for over nine minutes, and the phone immediately started limiting its performance just after some seconds. Its average frame rate hit a low 39.2fps record after nine minutes, which is lower than the 45.3fps of the Pixel 7 Pro with a Tensor G2 chip.
