Do These If Your Phone Has Lags After Update

Lags, as unfortunate as it sounds, have become a regular part of our Android and sometimes even iOS smartphones that we cannot completely get rid of. We try and reduce them, yet they are still always there. And one of the most annoying lags that smother our devices are the ones that come after updates. How does on get rid of these lags is the question we will be answering today.

Wait It Out

Smartphones after a new update tend to get slow and laggy for the reason that the updates have not actually been finished. The installation is done, however, system still needs to adjust itself to the new changes, so it runs processes in the background to make this transition. This may take a while so you need to be patient while it is taking course. If it is still laggy after 10-20 minutes, try rebooting your device to see if that helps.

Do a Factory Reset

It is possible that the new update has made your device slower and laggier than the previous version, as software is not perfect. If that is the case, you might want to consider the possibility that your device may be overly bloated and all that bloat is making it very slow. Wiping out your data can help reduce the heavy load on the system and may increase the performance. If you do not think that your device is bloated, then you should check out other possible reasons as to why it is laggy, instead of doing an unnecessary wipe.

Roll Back the Update

If you cannot locate the root cause of the lags and cannot reduce them enough, you should probably start considering going back. The root cause that you are looking for might be in the update as well. You can check out comments and feedbacks about the update from other users to make sure that it is the main cause.

If it is, we recommend you to roll back the update. The rollback process depends on your device, therefore, there is no one universal way to do it. You should check out your OEM‘s instructions or go into your device community to get help about it.
