Oppo Find X7 topped the AnTuTu benchmark ranking again in February. The smartphone, which is powered by Dimensity 9300, outperformed the flagship models from other brands, including the ASUS ROG 8 Pro, iQOO 12, RedMagic 9 Pro+, vivo X100 Pro, and more.
It is not exactly a huge surprising news as the Oppo Find X7 also dominated the ranking last month. Although its score decreased this month, it still managed to secure the top position, thanks to Dimensity 9300.
For MediaTek, nonetheless, it is an astounding performance, given Qualcomm’s dominance in the past. The Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company has shown great improvement in catching up with Qualcomm in the past months, allowing some of the smartphones it has been powering to outshadow competitors. According to reviews and tests, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 has a 10% higher single-core score than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while its multi-core score could be compared to A14 Bionic.
In the latest ranking of AnTuTu, Dimensity 9300 outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, albeit by a small margin. Yet, as noted before, given Qualcomm’s prominence in the industry, MediaTek topping the ranking is interesting as it suggests the start of better competition between the two companies.
This will be the second month the Oppo Find X7 has obtained the spot, but it could change soon. After releasing the ROG 8 Pro in January, ASUS is expected to release the D version of the said ROG smartphone using MediaTek’s chip. As such, with small numbers separating Oppo Find X7 and ASUS ROG 8 Pro, the ranking could see some changes soon.
