Google Pixel 9a’s 256GB variant is $40 pricier than its predecessor

Google is reportedly increasing the price of one of the variants of the Google Pixel 9a, reaching up to $40.

The Google Pixel 9a is expected to arrive in March, and leaks about the model are now non-stop. The latest involves its price tag.

According to a leak, the Google Pixel 9a will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. The former will cost $499, meaning it will be priced just the same as the Google Pixel 8a. However, the 256GB variant is allegedly coming at $599. If true, it will be $40 higher than the Pixel 8a’s 256GB storage option last year. This is not surprising, nonetheless, since the search giant already started this with the initial Pixel 9 series launch, targeting its 256GB variants by making them more expensive than the lower 128GB options.

According to earlier leaks, the Google Pixel 9a has the following specifications:

  • 185.9g
  • 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm
  • Google Tensor G4
  • Titan M2 security chip
  • 8GB LPDDR5X RAM
