HMD Global discontinues Nokia smartphones; Dumb phones remain available

HMD Global has marked all its Nokia-branded smartphones as “discontinued.” Nonetheless, its Nokia feature phones are still available.

Buyers will now see all the Nokia-branded smartphones unavailable on HMD’s official website. This includes all the 16 smartphones and three tablets the company used to offer under the Nokia brand. The last Nokia smartphone model HMD offered was the Nokia XR21.

The move marks the company’s departure from using Nokia’s fame. To recall, the brand started introducing its own HMD-branded smartphones in the past months. This includes the HMD XR21, which was introduced in May last year and offers the same set of specifications as its Nokia counterpart, like a Snapdragon 695 chip, a 6.49″ FHD+ 120Hz IPS LCD, a 64MP main + 8MP ultrawide rear camera setup, a 16MP selfie camera, a 4800mAh battery, and 33W charging support.

It is important to note, however, that HMD Global continues to offer its Nokia feature phones on its website. Currently, over 30 Nokia feature phones are available on HMD’s website. It is unknown how long the company will offer them, but it could be until next year. To recall, earlier reports revealed that HMD’s Nokia brand licensing is set to end in March 2026.
