Honor flip phone with ‘largest’ battery, external screen launching in June as part of Magic series

Honor’s rumored flip phone is reportedly coming in June. According to a leaker, it will have the largest battery and external screen in the industry and could join the brand’s Magic series.

Talks about Honor’s upcoming clamshell phone have been going on for a while now, and the company has shared some vague details about it in the past weeks. According to Honor CEO George Zhao, it will be released this year. Now, leaker Digital Chat Station has added more substantial content to the topic, claiming that the phone could be announced next month.

DCS didn’t provide the smartphone’s exact details but noted that its configuration and battery “have been hinted before.” The tipster also revealed that the flip phone will be part of the Magic series. The account further claimed that it would have the largest battery and external screen among flip phones in the market.

The latter detail reflects an earlier leak showing the patent document of the brand’s flip phone that was approved by China National Intellectual Property Administration. From the images shown, it appears the brand will opt for a whole new different design for the unnamed device. Unlike today’s flip phones with smooth corners, the images show a phone with an edgy design. Specifically, it seems to apply low-polygon modeling, making the corners of the phone appear unique. In the back, the image shows a spacious secondary screen, with the camera island appearing smaller compared to the modules in current flip phones in the market.

Recently, Zhao suggested that the flip phone would be “different from others” in various aspects. If true, this reflects the unique design shown in the patent mentioned above alongside the alleged large external screen and phone battery.
