A new leak from China says that the Honor Magic 8 series will consist of three models, including a Mini variant.
The Honor Magic 7 and Honor Magic 7 Pro debuted in China in October last year. Following several leaks about the vanilla and Pro variants, we expect to welcome the next Magic series this year. However, tipster Digital Chat Station shared in a new post that there would initially be three models in the Honor Magic 8 lineup. According to the leaker, the series will be comprised of the Honor Magic 8, Honor Magic 8 Pro, and the Honor Magic 8 Mini.
The Mini variant reportedly features the same 6.3″ display measurement found in the current compact models on the market. It could also offer the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip. According to DCS, the Magic 8 Pro and the standard Magic 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 but will sport 6.7″ and 6.58″ displays, respectively.
According to earlier rumors, the Honor Magic 8 will have a smaller display than its predecessor. The Magic 7 has a 6.78″ display, but the Magic 8 is reportedly coming with a 6.59″ OLED. It will be a flat 1.5K with LIPO technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. Ultimately, the display bezels are said to be extremely thin, measuring “less than 1mm.”
Meanwhile, the Magic 8 Pro is rumored to sport a 50MP OmniVision OV50Q main camera. The system is rumored to be a triple camera setup, which will also include a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP periscope telephoto. According to DCS in the past, the Magic 8 Pro would also offer a Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology, a smooth frame transition, and a better focus speed and dynamic range. The account also revealed that the camera system would now use less power, making it more efficient for users.
