Honor Magic6 Pro conquers DxOMark global smartphone ranking

Honor Magic6 Pro has topped DxOMark’s global smartphone ranking, beating its ultra-premium competitors in various sections, including its cameras, displays, audio, and battery.

The ranking was earlier dominated by other brand models, including Oppo Find X7 Ultra, which aced the website’s camera testing a week ago. According to DxOMark, Find X7 Ultra has a “good color rendering and white balance in photo and video” and an “excellent bokeh effect with good subject isolation and high levels of detail.” These points, however, were instantly obliterated by Magic6 Pro, which debuted recently.

Honor Magic6 Pro boasts a powerful camera system, with its main camera system composed of the following lenses:

Main:

  • 50MP (f/1.4-2.0, 23mm, 1/1.3″) wide lens with Laser AF, PDAF, and OIS
  • 180MP (f/2.6, 1/1.49″) periscope telephoto with PDAF, OIS, and 2.5X optical zoom
  • 50MP (f/2.0, 13mm, 122˚, 1/2.88″) ultrawide with AF

Front:

  • 50MP (f/2.0, 22mm, 1/2.93″) wide lens with AF and TOF 3D

According to DxOMark’s analysis, the combination of these lenses and other internals make the Magic6 Pro the perfect device for lowlight, outdoor, indoor, and portrait//group photos.

“It achieved excellent results across pretty much all test areas, without showing real weaknesses, and is also a noticeable improvement over its predecessor Magic5 Pro,” shared DxOMark. “For photo, the Magic6 Pro achieved a joint top score with the Huawei Mate 60 Pro+, thanks to nice colors as well as an excellent dynamic range and good face contrast, even in difficult backlit scenes.”

Interestingly, Magic6 Pro also performed well in other sections of the test, including display, audio, and battery. While the model didn’t entirely reach the highest scores in the said sections, the numbers it registered are still comparatively higher than rivals, including the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max and Google Pixel 8 Pro.
