Huawei announced the Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition. However, don’t be fooled, as it is not entirely a more premium version of the Mate 70 Pro.
To recall, the Huawei Mate 70 series debuted in China in November last year. The lineup includes the vanilla Huawei Mate 70, Huawei Mate 70 Pro, Huawei Mate 70 Pro+, and Huawei Mate 70 RS. Now, the Chinese giant has revealed that it made a “Premium Edition” of the Huawei Mate 70 Pro model.
However, while the standard Huawei Mate 70 Pro variant has a Kirin 9020 chipset, the new Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition only houses an underclocked version of the chip. A Geekbench listing confirms this, thanks to its underwhelming scores in the tests.
Aside from the chip, though, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition will offer the same specs as its standard sibling. The phone will hit stores in China on March 5. Colors include Obsidian Black, Spruce Green, Snow White, and Hyacinth Blue. Meanwhile, its configurations are 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 12GB/1TB, priced at CN¥6,199, CN¥6,699, and CN¥7,699, respectively.
