Huawei Mate X7, XT 2 coming in H2 2025; Pura X 2 launching next year

Huawei’s launch timelines for its next foldables — the Huawei Mate X7, Mate XT 2, and Pura X 2 — have leaked.

Huawei offers an interesting portfolio of foldables. This includes the Huawei Mate X6 and the original Huawei Mate XT trifold. To recall, the former debuted in China in November last year and arrived globally a month later. Meanwhile, the market’s first trifold launched in September 2024 and went global last February. Then, last March, the company introduced its first phone with a 16:10 display ratio, the Pura X.

According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, the Chinese giant’s foldable business is reportedly flourishing. Amid this success, the brand is expected to offer the successors of the said models in the coming months. The tipster claimed that the Mate X7 and the Mate XT 2 are both coming in the second half of 2025, while the Pura X 2 will arrive next year.

Details about the phones remain scarce, but DCS earlier shared that the Mate XT 2 still has the same screen resolution as the current tri-fold model. However, the account says that the device’s chip and camera system will be improved. The chip is reportedly a new Kirin 9020 series N-1 generation chip. Meanwhile, the camera is said to offer new lenses, complementing earlier reports about Huawei’s first in-house chips called SC5A0CS and SC590XS. The lenses are expected to debut in the Huawei Pura 80 series.
