Huawei Pura 80 Pro display, camera details leak

A new leak has revealed the camera and display details of the upcoming Huawei Pura 80 Pro.

The new information comes from well-known leaker Digital Chat Station. According to the tipster, the Huawei Pura 80 series is indeed coming in the second quarter of the year. This echoes earlier rumors about the lineup, saying that it was pushed back to the May-June timeline.

Aside from the possible launch timeline of the series, the tipster shared some of the details of the Pura 80 Pro, including its display. As per DCS, fans can expect a 6.78″ ± flat 1.5K LTPO 2.5D display with narrow bezels.

The phone’s camera details were also shared, with DCS claiming that it houses a 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera with variable aperture, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto macro unit. DCS revealed that all three lenses are “customized RYYB,” which should allow the handheld to better manage light. This should result in good camera system performance even in low-light situations. However, the account underscored that these specifications are not yet final, so some changes could still happen.

According to earlier leaks, the Pura 80 Ultra will have a more powerful camera system than the other models of the series. The device is allegedly armed with a 50MP 1″ main camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a large periscope with a 1/1.3″ sensor. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera. Huawei is also rumored to be developing its own self-developed camera system for the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. A leak suggested that aside from the software side, the hardware division of the system, including the OmniVision lenses currently being used in the Pura 70 series, could also change.

According to DCS in an earlier post, all three models of the series will employ 1.5K 8T LTPO displays. However, the three will differ in display measurements. One of the devices is expected to offer a 6.6″ ± 1.5K 2.5D flat display, while the other two (including the Ultra variant) will have 6.78″ ± 1.5K equal-depth quad-curved displays. The account also claimed that all the models have narrow bezels and use side-mounted Goodix fingerprint scanners.
