Tipster Digital Chat Station revealed new details about the Huawei Pura 80 series models.
The Huawei Pura 80 series is expected to arrive in May or June after its original timeline was allegedly pushed back. Huawei is expected to use its rumored Kirin 9020 chip in the lineup, and new details about the phones have finally arrived.
According to DCS in a recent post on Weibo, all three models will employ 1.5K 8T LTPO displays. However, the three will differ in display measurements. One of the devices is expected to offer a 6.6″ ± 1.5K 2.5D flat display, while the other two (including the Ultra variant) will have 6.78″ ± 1.5K equal-depth quad-curved displays.
The account also claimed that all the models have narrow bezels and use side-mounted Goodix fingerprint scanners. DCS also echoed earlier claims about the delay in the debut of the Pura 80 series, noting that it was indeed “adjusted.”
The news follows several leaks about the Pura 80 Ultra model of the series. According to earlier reports, the device is armed with a 50MP 1″ main camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a large periscope with a 1/1.3″ sensor. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera, but changes could still happen. Huawei is also allegedly planning to create its own self-developed camera system for the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. A leaker suggested that aside from the software side, the hardware division of the system, including the OmniVision lenses currently being used in the Pura 70 series, could also change.
