The price of the upcoming Huawei Pura 80 series is reportedly going to be “more reasonable” than the price of the current Huawei Pura 70 lineup.
Huawei will replace its Pura series this year with the Pura 80 lineup. Official details about the models are not yet available, but several leaks have already provided some of their key information.
Now, reputable leaker Digital Chat Station has teased the pricing of the Pura 80 series. While the account did not share the exact numbers, he noted that it would be logical this year. We don’t expect the models to be cheaper than the Pura 70 devices we have today, so the tipster could be referring to the upgrades the Pura 80 will offer.
According to earlier reports, the Pura 80 models will employ 1.5K 8T LTPO displays, but they will differ in display measurements. One of the devices is expected to offer a 6.6″ ± 1.5K 2.5D flat display, while the other two (including the Ultra variant) will have 6.78″ ± 1.5K equal-depth quad-curved displays. DCS also shared in an earlier post that the models have narrow bezels and use side-mounted Goodix fingerprint scanners.
Last month, DCS revealed that the Huawei Pura 80 Pro houses a 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera with variable aperture, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto macro unit. DCS revealed that all three lenses are “customized RYYB,” which should allow the handheld to better manage light.
Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Ultra is expected to have a more powerful camera system than the other models of the series. The device is allegedly armed with a 50MP 1″ main camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a large periscope with a 1/1.3″ sensor. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera. Huawei is also rumored to be developing its own self-developed camera system for the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. A leak suggested that aside from the software side, the hardware division of the system, including the OmniVision lenses currently being used in the Pura 70 series, could also change.
