A string of code spotted on HyperOS reveals that Xiaomi is indeed preparing a new non-foldable model with rear display support.
The news follows an earlier leak about the device, which will resurrect the feature we first saw in the Mi 11 Ultra model in 2021. According to earlier reports, it could be the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max.
Now, a new proof of the phone’s existence has emerged. This time, nonetheless, a code has arrived to support it. The handheld was spotted bearing the Q200 internal label, Pandora codename, and 25098PN5AC model number. According to the code, the phone supports a sub-screen.
According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, the phone will also sport a periscope unit. The rear camera setup is allegedly arranged vertically, while the secondary display will be placed horizontally. Moreover, the handheld reportedly comes with a Qualcomm SM8850 chip, which is expected to be named the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
The news follows several reports about the Xiaomi 16 series. According to a recent leak, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is debuting in December, while the vanilla model is now being certified for the global markets. In addition to the Ultra model, there’s also reportedly a Xiaomi 16 Ultra Max variant, which could offer a more premium set of specs. The lineup is also said to be expanding the compact variant choices for users by introducing the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini in addition to the vanilla model with a 6.3″ display.
