Vivo confirmed that it is extending the years of software support for its iQOO 12 model.
The iQOO 12 was launched in 2023 with the Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14. At that time, Vivo only offered three years of operating system updates and four years of security patches for the phone. However, iQOO India announced that, thanks to the recent revision of its software policy, it will extend the said numbers for one more year.
With this, the iQOO 12 will now receive four years of OS updates, which means that it will reach Android 18, which is set to arrive in 2027. Meanwhile, its security updates are now extended until 2028.
The change now puts the iQOO 12 in the same place as its successor, the iQOO 13, which also enjoys the same number of years for its OS upgrade and security updates.
