As the wait for the iQOO 13 continues, more leaks involving the phone have been surfacing online.
As usual, the information comes from reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, who earlier shared the first wave of leaks about the model. According to the tipster in a new post, the iQOO 13 should be armed with an IP68 rating, which is similar to the protection rating of the iPhone 15. This means the upcoming model is resistant to particles like dust or sand and could also be immersed in fresh water for a certain depth and time length.
The account also claimed that it could be armed with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. An ultrasonic biometric fingerprint sensor system is a type of in-display fingerprint authentication. It is more secure and accurate as it employs ultrasonic sound waves under the display. Additionally, it should work even when fingers are wet or dirty. With these advantages and the cost of their production, ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are usually found only in premium models.
Ultimately, DCS claimed in the post that instead of the earlier 1.5K resolution, it would get a 2K flat screen. According to the leaker in an earlier post, the display will be an OLED 8T LTPO screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels. As per other reports, on the other hand, the iQOO 13 Pro will have a curved screen, albeit the specifics of the display remain unknown.
Aside from these details, it was earlier reported that the iQOO 13 will be armed with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. This is expected to be one of the plethora of options that will be offered in the release of the device, as its predecessor also has the same 16GB/1TB configuration. According to rumors, the handheld will also have the anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. As per DCS, the chip has a 2+6 core architecture, with the first two cores expected to be high-performance cores clocked at 3.6 GHz to 4.0 GHz. Meanwhile, the six cores are likely the efficiency cores.
