Leaker: Mid-range Redmi Note 15 Pro+ model getting satellite comm

Xiaomi is reportedly planning to bring satellite connectivity to one of its mid-range models, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.

The feature is no longer new in the tech world. However, it remains limited, mostly in the Western and Chinese markets. This is why only the Chinese versions of the latest smartphones support satellite communication. Now, a new rumor says the domestic version of an upcoming Redmi Note 15 series model is getting it.

While this is not a surprise (given the ample options of Chinese models with satellite support), this is big news for Redmi fans. The Note 15 Pro+ will be the first model under the brand to get it. Even more, the Redmi Note lineup is not even a flagship series, so it is interesting that Xiaomi has opted for this strategy.

According to a reputable leaker, Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi’s plan is currently limited to the Redmi Note series, and the K series is not included in the list. Moreover, the tipster noted that the satellite communication feature will be introduced in a special edition of the Pro+ model, so we expect a regular one and a version with support for the said capability.

According to an earlier leak, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ model of the series will also have a 7000mAh+ battery capacity. Other details expected from the phone include a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a 1.5K quad-curved display, and a 50MP main camera alongside a 50MP telephoto unit. The entire series, meanwhile, will support 90W charging.
