A new leak claims that Oppo could soon use a true magnetic wireless charging feature in its smartphones. Nonetheless, it will reportedly be different from Apple’s patent to avoid issues.
Several Oppo and OnePlus devices are capable of charging wirelessly using the Qi technology. However, unlike Apple iPhones, they rely on additional accessories like cases to help the phone itself attach to the chargers.
According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, Oppo and OnePlus could soon have technology that would allow their devices to incorporate magnets into their smartphones. While this sounds like the one being used by Apple, the tipster underscored that “the magnetic design is slightly different” in order to prevent patent infringements.
The account did not specify the claim, including the models getting the said technology. Yet, it is safe to assume that it would be in the upcoming Oppo and OnePlus flagship lines, including the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 series.
