This year, you can expect more smartphone models offering 6.5” displays. Interestingly, it is suggested that more compact phones will debut in 2025.
That’s according to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, who claimed in a recent post on Weibo that the said size has become popular in the industry. As per the account, aside from brands like Oppo, other companies are also now pondering taking the same approach in the screen size for their next releases.
Several models with 6.5” displays were released in the past months, including the Oppo Reno 13 5G, Oppo Find X8, Lava Yuva 4, and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro.
DCS claimed that the mid-size screen will be one of the most popular choices among brands this year. In addition to the said size, the tipster noted that other sizes that will be “common” in 2025 include 6.6” and 6.8”.
Interestingly, the account also mentioned the 6.3” screen size, suggesting that the smartphone industry could soon welcome more compact phones this year. This echoes earlier claims about the mini phones being planned by brands, including the OnePlus 13 Mini and Oppo Find X8 Mini. According to an earlier report, Oppo will also introduce compact models in its A-series portfolio in the future.
