During Mobile World Congress, also known as MWC, CEO of the company Jason Keats provided little details about upcoming OSOM OV1. This device will be using stainless-steel frame and the display will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and will be larger than Essential PH-1 model with the exception that the battery will also be larger and last much longer than a day. As for the back cover, it will be using ceramic. The phone will have white, matte black, and a fun options as colors.

Dual camera that comes with the device will include sensors made by Sony and 48 Mp will be for the main, 12 Mp for the secondary and 16 Mp for the selfie camera. Company does not want to collaborate with carriers so the device will have a dual SIM support. It will be a privacy focused smartphone and will bring its own special USB-C cable that will have a switch on. This physical switch will enable and disable data transfer to other devices, making it impossible for data leaks. Software-wise however, details aren’t clear.

OSOM OV1 was originally planned to be released earlier in 2022, around summer, however, company has decided to delay it to the last quarter of 2022. Because of this timeline, it may feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’s successor but the details about it is still a mystery. We will know more in the coming months.
