OnePlus is expected to update its numbered flagship series this year. However, instead of going for “14,” earlier reports revealed that the company would instead use the OnePlus 15 moniker.

Several leaks have already revealed the phone’s key details ahead of its arrival. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station shared more information about it.

According to the leaker, the phone will have a battery with a capacity starting at 7000mAh. The battery is reportedly complemented by 100W charging and wireless charging support. Additionally, the phone is expected to have IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection.

The account also reiterated in the post that the phone could be powered by the anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. According to DCS in an earlier post, the OnePlus 15 would have a new front design that is comparable to that of Apple’s iPhones. The display is rumored to be a 6.78″ flat 1.5K LTPO screen with LIPO technology.

Ultimately, the OnePlus 15 is said to offer a triple camera system with a 50MP periscope unit. To recall, the company’s current flagship, the OnePlus 13, has a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main camera with OIS + 50MP LYT-600 periscope with 3x zoom + 50MP Samsung S5KJN5 ultrawide/macro setup.

Xiaomi’s Xring O1 beats Snapdragon 8 Elite on AnTuTu https://xiaomiui.net/xiaomi-xring-o1-beats-snapdragon-8-elite-antutu-63874/ Thu, 22 May 2025 08:13:31 +0000 https://xiaomiui.net/?p=63874 Xiaomi’s Xring O1 has yet again proven how impressive it is by outperforming Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip on AnTuTu.

Xiaomi will debut its first chip today through its highly anticipated Xiaomi 15S Pro model. The company’s in-house 3nm Xring O1 chipset is equipped with 1x Cortex-X925 (3.2GHz), 3x Cortex-A725 (2.6GHz), and 4x Cortex-A520 (2.0GHz). According to reports, it is a good match against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Yet, a new test benchmark result says it is even more than that.

In a recent test on Xiaomi 15S Pro on AnTuTu, the Xring O1 managed to achieve a higher score than the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s flagship chip nowadays. The phone scored 2,535,163 points against its rival, which had 2,515,259 points.

While the difference between the AnTuTu performance of the two is not entirely huge, it is still an impressive work from Xring O1. Despite being Xiaomi’s first chip in the market, it has already reached the same level of performance as Qualcomm’s flagship SoC. To recall, earlier results from Geekbench also favored Xring O1 over Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Despite this news, it is important to note that such benchmark scores are not actual indicators of how great the chip can perform in the real world. With this, we still have to wait for the actual review and performance of the Xring O1 once it debuts today.

Leaker: Xiaomi has ‘no such plan at present’ to use Xring O1 in Redmi models https://xiaomiui.net/xiaomi-no-plan-to-use-xring-o1-in-redmi-63863/ Thu, 22 May 2025 08:04:24 +0000 https://xiaomiui.net/?p=63863 Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station revealed that Xiaomi currently has no plans to use its new Xring O1 chip in Redmi devices.

Xiaomi is debuting the Xiaomi 15S Pro this Thursday. The phone’s main highlight is the company’s in-house 3nm Xring O1 chipset. The SoC is reportedly a good match against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. According to earlier reports, the chip is equipped with 1x Cortex-X925 (3.2GHz), 3x Cortex-A725 (2.6GHz), and 4x Cortex-A520 (2.0GHz).

While the Chinese giant will keep on working with Qualcomm despite managing to create its chip, fans can’t help but speculate about the possibility of Xiaomi using the Xring O1 in its sub-brands in the future. Nonetheless, that might still be far from the future, as DCS claimed in a recent post that Xiaomi has “no such plan at present” to do so.

With this, fans can still expect that future Redmi phones will be powered by Qualcomm and MediaTek chips. Qualcomm and Xiaomi extended their partnership recently, confirming that the latter’s flagship phones will still use Snapdragon SoCs.

“We value the relationship we have built resulting from 15 years of close collaboration and are excited to continue this journey for many years to come, with Snapdragon platforms powering Xiaomi’s premium smartphones,” said Cristiano Amon, president and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated.
