Oppo Find X8 Ultra tops DXOMARK 2025 camera smartphone ranking

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is the latest model to dominate DXOMARK’s best smartphone camera ranking in 2025.

The Oppo flagship smartphone debuted in China in April. Given its position as the “Ultra” model, it is unsurprising that it houses the most impressive set of camera lenses and specs in the series. To recall, the model offers a 32MP selfie camera in the front, while its back boasts a camera system with a 50MP Sony LYT900 (1″, 23mm, f/1.8) main camera, a 50MP LYT700 3X (1/1.56″, 70mm, f/2.1) periscope, a 50MP LYT600 6X (1/1.95″, 135mm, f/3.1) periscope, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 (1/2.75″, 15mm, f/2.0) ultrawide.

According to DXOMARK’s data, the model exceeded the overall performance of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

“…The OPPO Find X8 Ultra firmly establishes itself as a top-tier imaging device, delivering class-leading performance across the majority of our test conditions,” the review says. “It excels particularly in Portrait photography, color accuracy, and flexible zoom capabilities. While minor limitations exist, they are largely restricted to edge-case scenarios and do not detract from the overall experience. For mobile photographers, content creators, and demanding users alike, the Find X8 Ultra offers a highly refined, reliable, and enjoyable imaging experience.”

Sadly, the Oppo model will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. Yet, Zhou Yibao, the Oppo Find series product manager, earlier shared that the company could consider the global debut of the next Oppo Find X Ultra. Yet, the official underscored that it would still depend on how the current Oppo Find X8 Ultra model would perform in the Chinese market and whether there would be a “strong demand.”
