Leak: Oppo Reno 15 series display shrunk as vanilla model gets 6.3″; Cam, other details tipped

While we are still waiting for the broader rollout of the Oppo Reno 14 series, new leaks involving the Oppo Reno 15 series are already emerging.

The Oppo Reno 14 and Oppo Reno 14 Pro are already in China and will be unveiled in more markets soon, including India and Malaysia. Amid the buzz for the new Oppo smartphones, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station already has the first wave of details about their successors.

According to the tipster, the series will have smaller displays compared to the present Reno models. DCS claimed that the vanilla model will only have a display measuring around 6.3″ (vs. Reno 14’s 6.59″), while the Pro allegedly has a screen with a size around 6.78″ (vs. Reno 14 Pro’s 6.83″). If this is true, Oppo could be one of the latest brands to join the growing compact size trend among smartphone brands in China.

Aside from the display, the tipster also claimed that the series would use a wireless charging feature and a metal middle frame. There’s reportedly “a new flagship hardware,” suggesting a possible chip upgrade for the phones. To recall, the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro have MediaTek Dimensity 8350 and Dimensity 8450, respectively.

Ultimately, the Oppo Reno 15 and Oppo Reno 15 Pro are reportedly coming with periscope units as well, just like their predecessors. The main camera, however, is allegedly being changed to 200MP. To compare, both the present Reno models are using 50MP units with OIS.
