Oppo is finally making a comeback to Europe, but it will only offer its upcoming Find flagship series alongside the recently released Reno 11 F.
After clearing its issue with Nokia a month earlier, Oppo is now ready to return to the continent. To recall, the Chinese brand encountered a patent dispute against Nokia. In 2022, Oppo lost a patent infringement lawsuit to Nokia, pushing the Chinese company to stop its smartphone sales in Germany. Later, the two signed a global patent cross-licensing agreement, which concerns 5G standard-essential patents and different cellular communication technologies.
With this, the Oppo confirmed that it will be returning to Europe to continue its business, albeit it is unknown if Germany would be included. Yet, in a recent announcement, Oppo assured fans that its move would cover “all countries where Oppo was previously present.”
“Europe has been key to Oppo, and Oppo products will once again be widely available across Europe,” Bingo Liu, Oppo Europe’s chief executive, shared at MWC Barcelona on Monday.
As part of its return, Oppo wants to gear its business further in Europe by making a three-year deal with telecommunications operator Telefónica. However, while this should sound like good news to fans, it is important to note that the company will only start offering its most recent creations, including the Reno 11 F, which made its debut in different markets this month. According to the company, it will also offer the Find smartphone series alongside its tablet and earphone offerings.
