Xiaomi just announced POCO C50 in India! Xiaomi releases exclusive devices for specific region and POCO C50 is another smartphone that will be available in India.
POCO C50
POCO C50 is an affordable entry level smartphone, the base model (2 GB RAM – 32 GB storage) is priced at Rs. 6,499. If you want more RAM you need to pay extra Rs. 500 for the model with 3 GB RAM. For the initial release Xiaomi makes a discount, 2/32 variant is priced at Rs. 6,249 instead of Rs. 6,499 and 3/32 variant is priced at Rs. 6,999 instead of Rs. 7,299.
In 2022, 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM may sound terrible but POCO C50 runs Android Go which is a customized version of Android made for entry level devices. You can also gain more storage with an SD card.
POCO C50 is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chipset and packs 5000 mAh battery with 10W charging. It also has 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s pretty good entry level smartphones still feature SD card slot and headphone jack.
On the back POCO C50 features dual camera setup, 8 MP main shooter and a depth sensor and it has fingerprint sensor at the back. The back cover is made of artificial leather. A leather like texture makes the phone unique compared to other entry level smartphones.
POCO C50 will be a rebranded version of Redmi A1+. The excessive number of rebranded products Xiaomi is offering may bore you. However, POCO C50 costs less than Redmi A1+, comparing when it was first released.
