Bluetooth certification hints at possible US release for Sony Xperia 1 VI

Despite the company saying that there won’t be a US release, a different variant of the Sony Xperia 1 VI was spotted on a Bluetooth certification. According to speculations, this could be the US version of the model, giving fans the hope that it could still be announced in the Western country soon.

Two weeks ago, Sony unveiled the Xperia 1 VI, delivering a new powerful smartphone to the market. It comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 12GB RAM, 5000mAh battery, and a 6.5” 120Hz FullHD+ LTPO OLED screen. The release thrilled the fans, but those in the US were hit with bad news when Sony said that it had no plans to offer it in the country.

Interestingly, a new version of the Sony Xperia 1 VI was spotted in a Bluetooth certification. The variant carries the XQ-EC64 model number, which is similar to the XQ-DQ62 model number of the Sony Xperia 1 V that was released in the US in the past. Now, it is alleged that the variant could be the US version of the Sony Xperia 1 VI, indicating that Sony has plans to offer it in the US after all.

While this sounds good news, it is important to take it with a pinch of salt for now, as Sony itself still has to confirm it. Moreover, there’s the possibility that while it is indeed the US variant of the model, it could be a project that was later abandoned by the Japanese giant.
