Leaked protective case image shows Huawei P70’s rear camera design

We might have just seen what the Huawei P70 rear camera island looks like, thanks to a leaked image of the series’ protective case.

Huawei P70 is expected to launch later this month, but prior to that, some leaks and rumors are already revealing things we should expect from the series. The latest of them is a photo of a protective case from a third-party case company. As shared by well-known leaker @DigitalChatStation on Weibo, the back of the P70 series will feature a triangular island with rounded edges that will house three lenses. There will be one huge lens, which will be accompanied by two smaller ones and a flash. Aside from this, the case has revealed that the power button and volume buttons of the series will be located on the right side.

This leak supports earlier ones showing the render of the Huawei P70 series. Comparing the two, the case fits the rendered image of the P70’s rear camera island, which will reportedly show a triangular shape within a rectangular island.

Aside from these things, earlier reports claim that the Huawei P70 series could feature a 50MP ultra-wide angle and 50MP 4x periscope telephoto lens alongside OV50H physical variable aperture or IMX989 physical variable aperture. Its screen, on the other hand, is believed to be either 6.58 or 6.8-inch 2.5D 1.5K LTPO with equal-depth four-micro-curve tech. The processor of the series remains unknown, but it could be a Kirin 9xxx based on the series’ predecessor. Ultimately, the series is expected to have satellite communication tech, which should allow Huawei to compete with Apple, which has started offering the feature in the iPhone 14 series. The feature is reportedly coming to Xiaomi 15 as well.
