Xiaomi will release the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+, as we have previously reported. Xiaomi will launch two new entry level devices in India. Redmi A1+ is manufactured in India and will be available there as well. Despite the Indian government’s sanctions against Xiaomi, the company still continues to operate there. Xiaomi India team has shared they will keep running their business in India on Twitter.
Redmi A1+
Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ wil be among the new serie. Note that A1+ is just A1 with fingerprint sensor. Although we don’t currently have official pricing details, Redmi A1+ is very likely to cost approximately $100 in India. The codename of Redmi A1+ is “ice“.
Redmi A1+ features an artificial leather back cove and it comes in three colors: green, blue and black and it has a waterdrop notch on the front.
Xiaomi designed the Redmi A1 series specially to make it affordable, this device has a noticeably large chin on the front side of the phone. It has a 6.52″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600. No high refresh rate display here sadly.
Redmi A1+ has a fingerprint sensor at the back. It has a dual camera setup with an 8 MP primary camera and a secondary camera for measuring depth in photographs. It has 5 MP selfie camera as well.
Redmi A1+ is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 and it has a 5000 mAh battery. This device has a micro USB port even though newer devices use USB Type-C port commonly.
