Redmi K50 Dimensity 9000 edition confirmed to pack 120W HyperCharge

Xiaomi has been teasing the specifications of the upcoming Redmi K50 lineup of smartphones. The company is all set to launch the smartphones at the March 17th event in China. The devices in the lineup will include MediaTek Dimensity 8100, Dimensity 9000 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset. The whole lineup will be performance-oriented offering powerful hardware at a very reasonable price.

Redmi K50 with Dimensity 9000 to have 120W fast charging

The Redmi K50 “Dimensity 9000” edition, possibly the Redmi K50 Pro, will have a 5000mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge support, according to the company. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, the high-end smartphone in the lineup, had a 4700mAh battery with support for 120W HyperCharge; the company claims it can charge the battery to 100% in 17 minutes. This K50 “Dimensity 9000” edition comes with a slightly larger battery and the same 120W HyperCharge support.

Redmi also revealed that the devices will have a Samsung AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2K WQHD (1440×2560). It will have 526 PPI with DC Dimming and 16.000 different automatic brightness values. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus provides additional protection for the display. It will also include Dolby Vision support. In a nutshell, it will provide top-tier display specifications in its price range. It has also received an A+ rating from DisplayMate. DisplayMate is an industry-standard for optimising, testing, and evaluating all display technologies for any type of display, monitor, mobile display, HDTV, or LCD display.

The entire lineup will also include the industry’s first Bluetooth V5.3 technology, as well as LC3 audio coding support. The new Bluetooth 5.3 technology ensures a seamless connection with minimal transfer delay. It includes a number of feature enhancements that have the potential to improve the reliability, energy efficiency, and user experience of a wide range of Bluetooth-enabled products.
