Redmi K60 and Redmi K60 Pro were previously unveiled in China a couple months ago, and now Redmi K60 is set to be released with new RAM and storage options. Xiaomi’s official website showcases the two new versions of the phone.
Redmi K60 gets new storage and RAM options!
Redmi K60 will now be offered in two additional variants: 16GB+256GB and 16GB+1TB. While the 16GB+1TB option is not groundbreaking since Redmi Note 12 Turbo has a 1TB variant as well, the 16GB+256GB configuration is quite appealing to gamers and power users. It provides a more affordable choice for people who want to keep many applications running in the background but don’t require the massive 1TB storage capacity.
Redmi K60 and K60 Pro were introduced in 2023, but the new RAM and storage variants will only be available for vanilla Redmi K60. It’s worth noting that Redmi K60 is essentially the Chinese version of the globally available POCO F5 Pro.
Whether POCO F5 Pro will come with new variants remains uncertain. It’s unlikely that the 1TB variant will be offered in the global market, but Xiaomi might surprise us and yet there’s no way to be certain at the moment.
Chinese Xiaomi website features the new variants, although the pricing of new variants is currently not revealed. With the introduction of these new configurations, Redmi K60 will boast a total of six different variants: 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, 16GB+256GB (new), and 16GB+1TB (new).
The pricing of the new variants will be announced tomorrow, but we can already make a simple guess to calculate the cost. Considering the 16GB+512GB variant is priced at 3299 CNY, we expect the new 16GB+256GB variant to be priced below $469 (3299 CNY), while the 16GB+1TB option will likely exceed that price point. Even so, Redmi Note 12 Turbo remains as the most affordable phone with 1TB storage. Currently, the 1TB variant of Redmi Note 12 Turbo is priced at $369 (2599 CNY) in China.
