Redmi Note 13 series was unveiled with today’s event on September 21 in China, the three new phones of the lineup Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ were unveiled. The global launch event of Redmi Note 13 series will take place in the following months. The phones offer quite premium features with the Note 13 Pro+ featuring a curved OLED display and an IP68 certification. In previous models of the Redmi Note series, curved displays were never used, and the IP68 certification is also a new addition as the previously released Redmi Note series always lacked it. The specs of all the phones have been revealed with today’s launch event, so let’s take a look at all the phones, starting with Redmi Note 13 Pro+. Storage, RAM and pricing information can be found at the end of the article.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will come with MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, which boasts a 4nm manufacturing process and can be defined as a mid-to-high-range chipset. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is equipped with UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5 RAM, unfortunately, UFS 4.0 is not here. As seen in Xiaomi’s promotional posts, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra features an ISP similar to what’s found in the Dimensity 9000, the 13 Pro+ comes with Imagiq 765 ISP.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes in three different color options: Porcelain White, Midnight Black, and additionally, a leather variant that comes with four different colors on the back. Xiaomi has named the unique leather edition as “Dream Space“. The black and white variants have glass back while the other one is made of artificial leather.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is resistant to water and dust thanks to its IP68 certification. This is a first in the Redmi Note series; we’ve previously seen Redmi K phones with the certification, but Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is the first phone in the Note series to have it.
What’s also first in Redmi Note series is the curved display. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with 1.5K 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The display has 1800 nits of maximum brightness and 1920 Hz PWM dimming. The Note 13 Pro+ display has 2.37mm slim bezels.
The phone comes with Huaxing’s C7 OLED panel. Xiaomi, once again, did not use a Samsung made display on its phone. The display is highly capable though, the display of the Note 13 Pro+ can render 12 bit color and has HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
Redmi Note 13 Pro features Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 200 MP camera sensor with a f/1.65 aperture. The sensor size of ISOCELL HP 3 is 1/1.4″, the phone comes with ALD coating to reduce reflections. The other two cameras are 8 MP ultrawide angle camera and 2 MP macro camera. The phone has 16 MP selfie camera and is capable of shooting videos at 4K 30FPS.
Xiaomi has also made a comparison between Honor 90 and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ at today’s launch event. Honor 90 has Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and a 200 MP camera but as seen in the comparison shared by Xiaomi, the Note 13 Pro+ captures way more vibrant colors and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ can take the image 35% faster than Honor 90, meaning it has lower shutter lag compared to the competitor. Note that Honor 90 also has a 200 MP image sensor but its lens is slightly worse than the 13 Pro+.
The phone comes with 5000 mAh battery and 120W wired charging. Xiaomi claims the phone can be fully charged within 19 minutes. The battery capabilities of the Note 13 Pro+ seem quite promising; however, it’s worth noting that the previously introduced Note 12 Pro+ also had the same 5000 mAh capacity and 120W fast charging. We can’t say that there has been an improvement in the battery department compared to the previous “Pro+” model.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a very powerful competitor in the midrange market. This year, the Pro+ model’s base variant comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It seems Xiaomi wants to deliver high amount of storage and RAM to everyone.
Redmi Note 13 Pro
There’s not a huge difference between Redmi Note 13 Pro and Pro+ models, as the display panel and camera system are exactly the same. Redmi Note 13 Pro comes with a 120Hz 6.67-inch AMOLED display, with a maximum brightness of 1800 nits and support for 1920 Hz PWM dimming.
The display specs of the Note 13 Pro are the same as the Pro+, but the difference between them is that the Note 13 Pro has a flat display. The only device in the Redmi Note 13 series that comes with a curved display is the Note 13 Pro+.
Redmi Note 13 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, which you may not have heard of before because it’s a brand-new offering from Qualcomm. While the “7s Gen 2” might sound similar to “Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2” chipset, it’s not as powerful as the latter. This processor utilizes a 4nm manufacturing process and delivers enough performance for everyday tasks. The Note 13 Pro also comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage unit, just like the Pro.
Redmi Note 13 Pro comes in 4 different colors. We mentioned that the most significant difference between the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Pro+ is the flat display. However, it’s worth noting that the Note 13 Pro comes with 2.27mm display bezels, which is remarkably thin for a Redmi Note device, also giving a stylish look to the phone. It’s actually slimmer than the 13 Pro+’s bezels.
Redmi Note 13 Pro comes with the 5100 mAh battery paired with 67W fast charging. Redmi Note 13 Pro comes with a slower charge but it has 100 mAh extra battery capacity compared to the Note 13 Pro+. The Note 13 Pro shares the same main camera as the Note 13 Pro+.
If your budget is not enough to buy Note 13 Pro+ and you opted for the Note 13 Pro instead, you’re essentially not sacrificing from the specs too much. We can say that Xiaomi has done a very good job in the Redmi Note series this year because all phones have very good specs and prices are affordable.
Redmi Note 13 5G
Redmi Note 13 5G stands out as one of the more affordable options within the lineup. If you don’t require a 200 MP camera and a high-speed chipset, you can certainly opt for the Redmi Note 13 5G. This phone is equipped with a chipset that, while not matching the performance of the chipsets found in the Pro models, represents a solid choice for its price range. The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset.
The Redmi Note 13 5G features a 6.67-inch 120 Hz display. While it may not possess the premium characteristics of the Pro models, it still maintains a modern design. The phone measures 7.6mm in thickness and comes with three colors.
The phone has IP54 rating, unfortunately not like the IP68 certificate on the Pro models but it’s still good the phone is certified for the durability in this price segment. Redmi Note 13 5G comes with 108 MP main camera and a 2 MP macro camera. The main camera sensor size is 1/1.67″ and has f/1.7 aperture lens.
The phone comes with 5000 mAh battery and 33W charging. Redmi Note 13 features three different colors and these are blue, black and white.
Redmi Note 13 5G offers all the basic features at a really good price. The phone is not meant for the heavy camera us as it comes with a dual camera setup and can shoot videos at maximum resolution of 1080P and 30 FPS. We believe this device is still a reasonable option since it’s priced fairly. Below is the pricing of all phones in Redmi Note 13 series.
