Xiaomi is currently on an update spree, rolling out MIUI 12.5 for budget devices, as most of the flagship and upper range offerings have already been treated to the update. Some of the lower-end models currently enjoying MIUI 12.5 at least in China include the Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Mi Max 3.
The most recent among the bunch though is the Xiaomi Redmi 9 that received the update only yesterday. And now, the device has been joined by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, with the MIUI 12.5 update for it currently rolling out in India. In case you’re unaware, the update brings along some major performance enhancements coupled with a few UI tweaks and a brand new Notes app.
However, that’s not all. You see, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is still stuck on Android 10 despite the rest of the series already running Android 11. But that has changed now as Android 11 has also tagged along with the MIUI 12.5 update in question. And as if that isn’t enough, you also get the latest July security patch. In short, your device will be running the very latest Xiaomi has to offer following the update.

Do note that since the build is currently only rolling out to those that are a part of the Mi Pilot Testers program, it probably won’t be installable for those who aren’t a part of it. There’s no harm in trying though.
