There were numerous rumours about the Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chipset’s specifications and release date. It was previously stated that it would be released in the market in June. The launch date of the chipset has now been revealed by renowned tipster Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The tipster stated in a post that the Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chipset will be released around May 20th, 2022.
He did not, however, confirm a specific launch date for the SoC. He also confirmed that the codename SM8475 is exclusive to the Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chipset. According to the source, the midrange Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset will be unveiled next week, between May 15th and May 21st. There will also be a slew of devices set to debut with the new Snapdragon flagship chipset, and the brand will tease them as soon as the chipset’s official launch concludes.
Xiaomi and Realme are expected to be the first to release devices with the all-new Snapdragon flagship chipset.
