A Chinese leaker reiterated that the Oppo Reno 15 series models would indeed have smaller displays this year. According to the tipster, the phones are tentatively set for a November unveiling.
We are still waiting for the Oppo Reno 14 series to make its complete global rollout in various markets. Yet, Oppo is reportedly working on its successor already.
According to well-known leaker Smart Pikachu, the new lineup will be announced in November, albeit the schedule remains tentative. To recall, the Reno 14 was launched in China just this May.
Moreover, the tipster corroborated Digital Chat Station’s earlier claim about the series. According to Smart Pikachu, Oppo will indeed trim the sizes of the display. As per DCS earlier, the vanilla model will only have a display measuring around 6.3″ (vs. Reno 14’s 6.59″), while the Pro allegedly has a screen with a size of around 6.78″ (vs. Reno 14 Pro’s 6.83″).
Despite the decrease in the displays, Smart Pikachu underscored that there will be some upgrades. This will include the “super-large” batteries, which should mean they will be bigger than the 6000mAh and 6200mAh batteries of the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro, respectively.
The tipster also claimed that the camera department would be improved, especially in the color reproduction. DCS earlier revealed that the Oppo Reno 15 and Oppo Reno 15 Pro are reportedly coming with periscope units as well, just like their predecessors. The main camera, however, is allegedly being changed to 200MP. To compare, both the present Reno models are using 50MP units with OIS.
