A new patent reveals that Vivo is exploring a new shape for its next smartphone creation.
The patent was filed with the China National Intellectual Property Administration. The document details the bizarre camera island shape being proposed by the company. In general, the module appears to be in the shape of a crescent moon.
Interestingly, the module protrudes excessively on the phone’s flat back panel. According to the patent, the side frames of the phone are also flat, and its module houses two camera lenses.
The purpose of the crescent-shaped module is unknown at the moment, but it could either be for design purposes or other practical reasons (e.g., finger grip). Yet, it is important to note that the idea is still a patent and does not guarantee that the company will actually implement it in its future creations.
