Vivo X Fold 5 has powerful protection ratings: IP5X, IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+. Additionally, Vivo revealed that the phone will be available in a turquoise green variant.
The new Vivo book-style foldable is expected to arrive this month. The company has already started teasing the device, sharing earlier that it would be lighter than the Vivo X Fold 3 and thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Now, the company is back to confirm that the foldable will have a green color option, which is likely a turquoise green hue. To recall, its predecessor arrived with Feather White and Black colorway options.
Additionally, Vivo confirmed that the foldable has a powerful set of protection ratings. To recall, the earlier X Fold series only had IPX4 and IPX8 ratings. However, the new X Fold has a higher IP5X for dust resistance and IPX8 for water resistance, so it can withstand water submersion for more than 1 meter. Moreover, aside from the IPX9 for high-pressure and high-temperature water jet resistance, it also has IPX9+, allowing users to fold the phone under 1 meter deep in the water for up to 1000 times. With all those protection ratings, the Vivo X Fold 5 could impress Vivo fans, especially since no other foldables even have an IPX9 rating certification.
