Vivo X200 Ultra photography kit to offer detachable 200mm telephoto, 2300mAh battery, retro design

Vivo announced that it will offer the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra with an optional photography kit.

Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao shared the news on Weibo ahead of the phone’s launch on April 21. As revealed by the company earlier, the Vivo X200 Ultra will be the company’s latest camera smartphone flagship. The brand even shared live images of the Ultra phone’s lenses and sample shots taken using its portrait, ultrawide, and telephoto units.

Now, Vivo is back to reveal that fans can further enjoy the camera system of their Vivo X200 Ultra through its photography kit. This will allow the handheld to challenge other flagship models, including the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which also offers its own photography kit.

According to Han Boxiao, the Vivo X200 Ultra photography kit will feature a retro design. The image shared by the official shows the kit sporting leather material on some portion of its back and grip. The kit is expected to be offered in a variety of colors.

The photography kit will also offer additional power to the Vivo X200 Ultra through its 2300mAh battery. According to the manager, the kit also features a USB Type-C connection, an extra button for instant video recording, and a shoulder strap. The official also revealed that the kit will offer one more major feature: a detachable 200mm telephoto lens.

According to Vivo, the standalone external telephoto lens was created with the help of ZEISS. It will enhance the camera system by offering a 200MP sensor with a 200mm focal length, an f/2.3 aperture, and an 8.7x optical zoom. Vivo also shared that the detachable lens has 800mm equivalent (35x) zoom and a maximum of 1600mm (70x) digital zoom. The optional lens will join the already powerful system of the Vivo X200 Ultra, which offers a 50MP Sony LYT-818 main camera, a 50MP LYT-818 ultrawide, and a 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto unit.
