As you know, Xiaomi recently introduced its new flagship Xiaomi 12 Pro. Today, let’s compare the Xiaomi 12 Pro with the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max is Apple’s latest flagship device. Let’s mention that this device with a long battery life comes with a 6.7-inch screen with a 120HZ refresh rate and Apple A15 Bionic chipset, and let’s start the comparison in detail.
First of all, if we talk about the screen of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, it comes with a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1440 x 3200(QHD+) resolution and 120HZ refresh rate. In addition, while this screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, it supports HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and finally it can reach a very high brightness of 1500 nits. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch XDR OLED display that supports 1284×2778(FHD+) resolution and 120HZ refresh rate. Also, this screen is protected by scratch-resistant ceramic glass, supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Finally, it can reach 1200 nits brightness. If we make an evaluation, the screen of the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a better resolution than the iPhone 13 Pro Max and can reach higher brightness values.
Xiaomi 12 Pro has a length of 163.6 mm, a width of 74.6 mm, a thickness of 8.16 mm and a weight of 205 grams. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a length of 160.8mm, a width of 78.1mm, a thickness of 7.65mm and a weight of 238 grams. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is a lighter but slightly thicker device than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with 50MP resolution Sony IMX707 with 1/1.28 inch sensor size and F1.9 aperture, but iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with 12MP lens with lower resolution and F1.5 aperture. As for other cameras, Xiaomi 12 Pro has 50MP resolution Ultra Wide Angle lens which supports F1.9 aperture and 115° angle, while iPhone 13 Pro Max has 12MP Ultra Wide Angle lens with lower resolution but higher angle and F2.2 aperture. As for telephoto lenses, Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 50MP resolution F1.9 aperture lens capable of 2X Optical Zoom, while iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with a 12MP resolution 3X Optical Zoom lens with F2.8 aperture. Finally, if we come to the front cameras, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 32MP resolution lens, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 12MP resolution lens.
On the chipset side, Xiaomi 12 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while iPhone 13 Pro Max is powered by A15 Bionic. In terms of performance, the A15 Bionic is much better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but also better in terms of power efficiency.
Let’s take a look at the Geekbench 5 test;
The A15 scores 1741 points in single core and 4908 points in multi-core. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 scores 1200 in single core and 3810 in multi-core. The A15 Bionic consumed 8.6W for 4908 points, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 consumed 11.1W for 3810 points. We see that the A15 Bionic, produced with TSMC’s 5nm (N5) production process, is much better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 produced with Samsung’s 4nm (4LPE) production process.
Finally, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 4600mAH battery while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 4352mAH battery. Xiaomi 12 Pro supports 120W fast charging technology but iPhone 13 Pro Max supports 20W fast charging technology. Xiaomi 12 Pro charges 6 times faster than iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Who is our winner?
There is no winner unfortunately because both devices have very good specs. Those who are stuck between two devices, who want to enjoy the high-resolution screen and fast charge their device with 120W, should buy the Xiaomi 12 Pro, but those who want to use their device for a long time with its extremely high performance definitely buy the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
