The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is set to feature a 1-inch Sony IMX 989 sensor in its main camera. This new sensor will be able to provide better images and video quality than the current sensors used in most smartphones.

A couple of months back, we had mentioned about the leak of the new Sony IMX 989 sensor and the possibility of Xiaomi 12S Ultra using this sensor in the cameras. Our predictions have proven to be true and Xiaomi 12S Ultra is set to feature a Sony IMX 989 sensor with OIS in its main camera. This high-end sensor has 50 million pixels, a size of close to 1 inch and will have luxurious parameters. And on top of Xiaomi 12S Ultra using Sony IMX 989 sensor, Xiaomi 12S will come with IMX 707 main sensor, thanks to Leica cooperation!
Why is this sensor important for a smartphone camera? If the sensor is of high standard, it will result in better images and videos that are captured by the Xiaomi 12S Ultra’s main camera. Consequently, this could lead to increased sales of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, given that potential users of this smartphone will be happy with the images and videos that it captures.
