Xiaomi 15 Ultra to be the brand’s first Ultra model to support eSIM; Global market release list revealed

A HyperOS analysis revealed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra supports eSIM. Meanwhile, the markets welcoming the phone globally have been named.

We are now waiting for the arrival of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which rumors claim will arrive globally alongside the vanilla variant at MWC 2025. While Xiaomi still hasn’t named countries receiving the Ultra model soon, a new leak has mentioned some possible markets, including Turkey, Indonesia, Russia, Taiwan, India, and other EEA countries.

The highlight of the leak, nonetheless, is the alleged eSIM support for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This makes it the first Ultra model from Xiaomi to offer the said feature. To recall, eSIM is not entirely new in the brand, but it is commonly only available in its lower models, such as the Xiaomi 13 Lite, 13, 13 Pro, 13T, 13T Pro, 14, 14 Pro, 14T, and 14T Pro. The most recent Ultra model of the brand, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, however, doesn’t have it despite bragging about the “Ultra” branding.

This will allegedly change in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, as shown by a recent HyperOS code discovery. The phone was spotted in the HyperOS carrying the “xuanyuan” codename alongside other phone models with eSIM support.

In related news, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is also said to house a new self-developed “Small Surge” chip from Xiaomi. The component is expected to aid the model’s performance in the battery, charging, and other departments. Other details expected in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra include a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, an IP68/69 rating, 90W charging, and a 6.7″ display. The handheld is also rumored to get a 50MP Sony LYT900 main camera, a 50MP Samsung S5KJN5 ultrawide, a 50MP Sony IMX858 3x telephoto, and a 200MP Samsung S5KHP9 5x telephoto. In front, there’s reportedly a 32MP Omnivision OV32B40 unit.
