Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the Xiaomi 16 Pro will have a customizable button but notes that it could have a reduced battery capacity because of that.
Xiaomi is believed to be working on the Xiaomi 16 series already, and it is expected to launch in October. A recent leak shared by DCS on Weibo supports this.
According to the tipster, the phone could have an iPhone-like Action Button, which users can customize. The button could summon the phone’s AI assistant and work as a pressure-sensitive gaming button. It also reportedly supports camera functions and activates the Mute mode.
However, DCS revealed that adding the button could decrease the battery capacity of the Xiaomi 16 Pro by 100mAh. Yet, this should not be much of a concern since the phone is rumored to still offer a battery with a capacity of around 7000mAh.
DCS also shared some of the details of the Xiaomi 16 Pro’s metal middle frame, noting that the brand will 3D-print it. According to DCS, the frame remains strong and will help reduce the unit’s weight.
The news follows an earlier leak about the series. According to a tipster, the vanilla Xiaomi 16 model and the entire series will finally get periscope lenses, arming them with efficient zooming abilities.
