Well-known leaker Smart Pikachu shared on Weibo some of the key details of the Xiaomi 16 ahead of its rumored September launch in China.
As per the tipster, the Xiaomi 16 series will be introduced in the domestic market a month earlier this year. Smart Pikachu echoed the claims and shared that the Xiaomi 16 would be the first to offer Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip.
Additionally, the account revealed that the phone could also house a huge 6800mAh battery, which reportedly supports 100W charging power. To recall, the vanilla Xiaomi 15 in China has a 5400mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Smart Pikachu also claimed in the past that the phone would still have a 6.3″ screen, dismissing rumors that it would instead have a 6.8″ display. According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi 16 sports a triple 50MP camera system, which should now include a periscope unit, like its other siblings in the series.
